Sunday night church service

Myself Gwenael and Faye did go to church on the Sunday night .

One hour of Welsh , no Spanish or English word uttered . Gulp.

In the notices they said Diolch to us for attending. The queen of this area was there Luned González. ( put me in my place when I said Eluned). She had heard that we were in town from Ricardo Evans who interviewed me for the local radio  show broadcasts in Spanish and Welsh .

Luned González son Fabio Trevor Gonzslez runs the amgeuddfa ( museum ) in Gaiman , again great display of furniture and tools from settlers .

As a was sitting in my pew , I was a bit choked that this was taking place 8000 miles away from my home town . The way I’ve tried to explain this community to myself is by comparing it to the Italians in the Amman Vslley . The Crescis, Mario, Renaldo, Frank, Cappanini, Enrico. They are all Welsh , but we know they have a proud Italian ancestry reflected in their names and characteristics. Similar here the surnames reflect their Welsh ancestry, there’s a proud welsh community within the Patagonia community.

Eluned Jonez from Sir Benfro was there, after being a teacher in Trevellin and Trelew they returned to Pembrokeshire. But when her husband passed away last year she decided to return to Patagonia for the winter. That’s a testimony .
