This is a mish mash of notes about the use of Spanish on this trip . 


Argentina pronounce words differently. 

Ci = Pronounced si

Hundred = Cien is       si…en. 


Ll =pronounced sh 

Street = Calle is            ca..sh…e

Arrival = llagados.        Sh…aguados 


Y=pronounce sh

Yo  = sho 

Ya = sha

Ayer = Asher 

Playa = plasha or placa 


Montón = a lot = mucho mucho 


enchilladas = ench…shadas


Buen día for Buenos días 


Adelante = Go on ( also on road signs do not pass ) 


500 = quinientos ( difficult to say )!

Enfrente = in front of , opposite 

Car Parking = Estacionamiento (aparcamiento de coches) 


We can still talk = Igual podemos hablar


Tomar el tren 

Puedes tomar una foto


He llegado a Buenos Aires . Not en Buenos Aires 


Duendes = goblins 

Mar y Calle - it’s a bus company but couldn’t understand the guy at all until clicked Mar y Ca … sh.. e 


Como se llama became como se shama

Hot dogs = Pancho 

Bife de chorizo - sirloin

Ternera - tougher 


Almacén = store 

Almacén frutas y verduras 


Acá = aquí ( in Argentina) pronounced asha. Ven aqui is ben asha 



Arroyo = a stream however could be a large stream flowing between huge rocks . 

 

Cabalgatas - horse riding 


Amanecen almacenar store not tienda 


Solo ver - just to see 

Solo tener - just to have 


Not so hung up about ser and estar . 

Es y esta - es iqual

Cordero = lamb 

Bondiola- meat sandwich 


La filA instead of la cola for queue


Aqua Dulce - fresh water

Paso - excedes 


Alfajor- Argentina chocolate 

Chivita - lamb meat in Uruguay
