Liverpool 7 - Manchester United 0
The first day in 17 that I’m not going anywhere just chilling in town . The weather is good so catching up in the sun with the Sunday newspapers. What? They have to change the story line to Cinderella and Snow White because it could offend some readers .
Last week on Saturday , I was cycling so missed the Wales v England rugby , not that there were places with tv.
There’s one American type sports bar in town , so I checked that for the match . They had local football and motor sport on . I returned just after kickoff and they were showing the match .
Ordered my Coca Cola and agua caliente (hot water) . Some waitresses look daft on me for the agua caliente but it seems refreshing for me .
Another came to join me at my table . Te gusta Liverpool o Manchester . Nada me gusta fútbol. A short exchange of about 5 minutes in Spanish and then we chatted about our lives here .
Nice to have an English conversation again, only two watching fútbol . The rest were Argentina families .
Great result for Liverpool.
Andy was from York , a Liverpool supporter,47 year old who just sold his pub business after 18 years . Basically had been in Argentina for 5 months . El Calafate was his starting point after Bs As. Glaciers , working in hostel , volunteering in farm but started off with 90% English being spoken .
He’s now working in a lavandería, having bed and food . Moving on tomorrow flying Bariloche to Mendosa . He’s into his wine so looking for some vineyards to visit . It’s good to have an interest .
