Day 2 - Settling in with cramps with some photos

Oh I had a bad night last night with severe cramps in my legs , shins and foot . 


Also my little rash in my penol is starting up again and I left my daktatin at home .


So , no more caffeine for me . I've drunk too much of it . Walked a lot but it's the caffeine that gave me the hurt . Reminded me of the pain Mam used to be in . I drank water to get rid of it . Must have worked slept till 0800. 


Still had a few essentials to sort out …. Buying a local transport card (sube) and I had forgotten my fungal cream . Cream at pharmacy cost me 600 peso £2. 


All sorted . Went down to Plaza Mayo , took fotos . Few tourists Argentinos chatted . Not met any Europeans yet . 

They asked me for Palermo so I think I will head over there to have a look . 


Then I was heading to San Telmo district on suggestion of tandem partner when Rod of walking football suggested a sports bar . Without looking for it , it was there just outside the mercado which was just buzzing . No signs and if you are on a tourist bus ….. you've missed it . 


Using my new Sube card i caught the subway to Palermo , didn't know what to expect but a lovely suburb of tree lined streets usual mix of cafes and signs of poverty with people making a go if it selling pens , paper tissues , bread . Bit of litter about the place but adds to the character . 


Took the bus which i though would end up down town . Nice views of the BBC suburbs and loads out in the green parks . Very pleasing . But felt I was going away from BA and I was right . My Spanish does come  in useful . 


As the bus came to Constitución , i got off as the people activity was buzzing . Football shirts galore for sale . The men's toilets had an edge to it , quiet , ready to kick off . Loads in control of themselves but had loads of drink and clothes showing Street life . 


The sube card is now invaluable as I simply jump on subway home. Chatted with a Dutch couple who were frustrated that they could buy a sube card . I got lucky . 


So now it's back to hotel and I could 

a) go to Tango show

b) go to Boca or San Telmo to see carnival. 


I decided to go neither but had meal I. Local , very relaxing watching people and hone by 2230. 


A very good day .

3 days–60km , elevation 737 , 146 bpm .  This was the toughest day .  Lago Escondido  Lago Villarino Lago Faulkner We leave the Lago Correntoso / Espejo Chico area to continue travelling along the route to the next Posada Cordillerana accommodation, all located in the Lago Hermoso.  Accidentes - they do happen . Celeste came off her bike just small gravel inside the white took the wheel down . I normally keep 2/3 bike lengths away so avoided any collision. Dina had to break hard but fair does as a 13 year she dusted herself down and within 5 minutes we were off again . The beauty of cycling in a support group.  Similarly I took a fall going over a wooden bridge with gaps ( reminded me of the bridge myself and Elisa crossed as    we hiked to hydro electric and Machu Pichu .  Talking of that Diego pointed out the rock that had Eva Person's face looking upwards .  This was a tough day of cycling . The man on the right seems to have the neckerchief and headwear of traditional days . A beret seems popular too  A typical shop it could be bar restaurant clothes shop whatever . The red wooden sides to building g . Majority made of wooden not a lot of stone .  Local wearing a beret .  Nice atmosphere, clean low lights , quiet about 2330 at night   or   The lake at San Martín about 7 blocks from the centre . The sun was hot , it would burn but there’s a chill in the air . Lane must be cold - not many splashing around !  View of San Martín from our final mirador as we were drinking mate .  This was a must have food suggested by my group . It’s called choripán, basically chorizo in a roll . Too much bread for me but great with mustard or with chimichurri.  Warning at the hostel .  Lots of old cars about .
