Arriving Bariloche

What a pleasant experience. All calm at the airport where I could write up some notes and plan ahead for the return visit to Buenos Aires .

I think I've burnt myself . Ouch , the sun didn't feel hot and I wasn't out in it long time . Top of head hurts and I can see redness on my arms .

On flight chatted with Argentina family . He was going to Germany in March . Infrared specialist Argentina representative of the German company .

They are going south 200 km from Bariolche. Esquel is a further 500 km south " where lady Di had tea". He shared how he rode a motor bike many years ago , told me to visit the village where Walt Disney lived and to take a photo by the tree in Esquell ,3200 years old .

What a small airport . But that means no queues flew through. Caught a shuttle bus for 1000 pesos ( £3) . Can see it's an adventure place with adverts for canoeing hiking and biking .

Looking at some of the kit others have got and I don't if I have too much clothes or too little . I have what I have .

So today

  • walked down to the lake
  • Visited the bus station
  • Saw western union bank
  • Visited few excursions shops to see what activities are on offer
  • Visited tourist information

Got most information needed to plan the next weeks .

Lots of people with rucksacks . It's a camping place . But also it's a winter snow resort. Mainly a Argentina tourist . X3 expensive than bs as. Reminds me of American town with the sidewalks . Has a western (Mexico ) feel to it . Same bus card (sube ) used as in bs as ( but single journey 125 ARP instead of 42 ARP.

Unfortunately the ZZ meeting place was closed but then ran into the Bariloche carnivaal. Lots of drums and noise .

The views of the lakes are absolutely stunning with the mountains across the lake and in the afternoon the blue was "bluer".

The weather , chilly in the morning and in the evening .

Met 3 groups of people stopping me for a chat , tourist and local . It's a friendly atmosphere.

The carnival is in full flow hear drums colourful costumes .
